Standard Poly Backing: A thin poly (plastic coating) used for heat molding on the back of the carpet. It is clear in appearance. Most vehicles, prior to 1999, have this type of Standard Poly Backing. The Jute Padding insulation is attached to the carpet when using this Standard Backing. No extra charge.

Mass Rubber Backing: A heavy Black Rubber backing that is attached to your carpet in lieu of using the standard poly backing. The Mass Backing is attached to the back of the carpet when molded to add additional protection from heat and sound. This type of backing is found in newer vehicles. You may add this type of backing to any carpet kit for an additional charge. Jute padding insulation is also supplied with this type of carpet kit.  Due to the extra weight of the carpet the extra charge also includes the additional shipping costs to ship this carpet.
